Chennai 2008
Amma held two days of programmes in the Chennai Brahmasthanam. The crowd overflowed the small Brahmasthanam grounds on both days, as the people continuously filed in from the busy streets to have darshan. On the second day, mass pujas were performed, led by Amma herself.

Bhavani River Stop with Amma

Pongal at the Ashram

Pongal was celebrated in the Ashram. Amma distributed payasam to all the residents in the afternoon. The day on which the sun begins to move northwards is called ‘Makar Shankranti’. In Tamil Nadu this festival is called the Pongal.
