It is not only about expressing gratitude for the food we eat but also about recognizing the interconnectedness of all beings and elements involved in bringing that food to our plates

As the most personally accessible spiritual master in history, Amma makes herself available for questions to everyone who comes to her.
Amma’s answers contain multitudes, containing countless of pearls of wisdom, touching upon the social to psychological to environmental dimensions, as well as familial, cultural and historical — and through it all, the spiritual. Each of these satsangs is like one pearl extracted from Amma’s answer — sufficient enough for a sadhak to contemplate upon.
Amma’s answers are born out of her perfect knowledge of the nature of the world, the individual self, and True Self or Paramatman that is the substratum of creation. They are also enriched by her experience of having personally consoled and interacted with millions of people from all over the world. Just as the Upanishads are written records of the answers given by the Rishis in response to the questions of seekers wracked by doubts, Amma’s answers — a living Upanishad with no beginning and no end — bring the light of knowledge to the seeker, clarify misconceptions, and put the mind at ease. When questions cease, the mind is still, and the True Self shines forth.
