19 March 2026, Ayodhya

The Shri Rama Raksha Yantra was consecrated today at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, on Chaitra Navratri and the start of Rama Navami celebrations. The consecration rituals were led by Acharya Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid of Kashi, along with 51 Vedic scholars.

The consecration rituals

For nearly an hour, Amma, along with India’s President Droupadi Murmu and the Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister of Uttarpradesh Yogi Adityanath remained in the sanctum sanctorum during the pratishta rituals. Amma meditated throughout, praying that “the light reach everyone’s heart: that knowledge should shine, love should shine, and Sri Rama’s life of ideals should be shared and lived in others’ lives as well.” {news}

Desiring a Mahatma’s presence on such a sacred occasion, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust invited Amma to the installation ceremony. Following the Rama Yantra pratishta, Amma and President Murmu offered their tributes.

The Yantra is a copper-based, gold-plated hexagon measuring three square feet. It is intricately embossed with mantras covering the primary aspects and avatars of Maha Vishnu, alongside the symbol of Sri Rama. At its central point (madhya bindu) lie the mantras of Sri Rama (‘Jai Sri Ram’) and Sita Devi.
These are encircled by a prayer asking Sri Rama to bless all with Mukti (liberation) and unconditional Bhakti (devotion). A special prayer also invokes Sri Rama to manifest in the Yantra, calls upon Hanuman to protect the good and punish the wicked, and prays for the Divine to manifest in the devotees’ hearts.

Shri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi, the Shankaracharya of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, has graciously offered this Yantra to be consecrated within the Rama Mandir.
