We run all over the place in search of God. Just when our roots begin to grow, we start thinking, “I’m not gaining anything here. If I go over there I may get more.” What we really need is patience.
The essence of the scriptures is in its practical aspect. While dealing with others, were we able to maintain our composure? Otherwise, what is the difference between us and a tape recorder, or a book?
Guru may not act according to the expectations and desires of the disciple. Desires and expectations arise from the ego. A true Master never nourishes the ego.
Some things that we know to be displeasing, we won’t say to a persons face.
Only a Guru knows how to handle a disciple.
Even though God and guru dwell within us, our mental state is unfit to imbibe that presence. At present we are extroverted; so, the inner guru has yet to awaken.
