Yoga for One Earth, One Health: Yoga can be adopted universally

21 June 2025, Amritapuri — International Yoga Day

A special yoga program was conducted at Amritapuri Ashram to mark International Yoga Day, celebrated in the presence of Amma. This year’s global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” underscored yoga’s transformative power to promote both personal well-being and collective harmony.

In her address, Amma said, “Yoga is the path to awakening our infinite potential and realising our inherent completeness, through the proper adjustment of the body, emotions, and intellect.”

She added, “Yoga is not merely a one- or two-hour exercise routine. It is a holistic way of life rooted in moral values. Since human nature is fundamentally the same everywhere, yoga can be adopted universally—irrespective of caste, religion, or nationality.”

Amma emphasized that true health is not just the absence of disease but includes physical stamina, mental peace, a sharp memory, and clarity of intellect. “Yoga offers a practical method to achieve all of these,” she said.

The program featured a yoga demonstration in the ashram’s prayer hall, with participation from CRPF personnel, Kerala Police officers, and Amritapuri residents involved in the ashram’s security and daily functions. Together, they practiced a sequence of asanas aimed at fostering inner harmony and physical strength.
