Amma was giving darshan to her devotees when Kaushik approached her with a request. He had received a mantra from Amma years ago, but had forgotten it and was now seeking her guidance. Amma listened attentively and then asked Kaushik a series of questions to help him remember the significance of the mantra.
“Do you remember your wife?” Amma asked. “Do you remember your name? You only eat, sleep, and go to the toilet, eh?”
“You put your hand around your wife and walk around, finding joy only in that,” Amma continued.
Amma then lovingly twisted his ears, highlighting the importance of remembering what is truly important in our lives.
Amma then re-initiated Kaushik, reminding him of the power of the mantra and its significance in his spiritual practice.
Amma’s wisdom and guidance serve as a reminder to all of us of the significance of our spiritual practices and the importance of remembering what is truly important in our lives. By focusing on our connection to the divine and striving to do our spiritual practices, we can cultivate inner peace and achieve a greater understanding of our purpose in life.
Let us all take this lesson to heart and continue to chant the mantra, pursuing the path of sadhana with devotion and determination.
