The 72nd birthday of our beloved Amma, will be celebrated in Amritapuri. The day will begin at dawn with prayers and homas, and continue with cultural programs, charitable initiatives, and Amma’s blessings for all who come. Lakhs of devotees from around the world are expected to join this sacred occasion.
Highlights of Amritavarsham 72
- 72 Ganapati Homas at 5 a.m. marking the start of the day’s celebrations.
Prayers for World Peace led by tribal and community groups from across India. - Guru Pada Puja and Amma’s Birthday Message to the devotees at 9.00 AM
Bhajans, satsangs, and meditation guided by Amma. - Amritakeerti Puraskaram to P.R. Nathan for his contributions to literature.
- Mangalyasudha – mass weddings for more than 50 underprivileged couples, including full wedding support.
- Release of new publications by Ashram authors and spiritual scholars.
- Distribution of working capital and clothing to 15,000 AmritaSREE self-help group members and their families.
- Free surgeries for 300 patients at Amrita Hospitals, Kochi and Faridabad.
- Free heart surgery camp for children: 400 screened, with surgeries offered to those in need.
- Mega Cleaning Yajna: 10,000 volunteers worldwide, 3,000 locally, culminating in Kollam and Alappuzha.
- One World, One Heart competitions: essay, painting, and quiz to honor Amma’s historic Malayalam address at the UN.
- UNESCO Chair on Assistive Technologies in Education awarded to Amrita University for pioneering work in disability empowerment.
- Cultural programs including dance, drama, and music by Amrita Institutions students and international artists.
- Prasad distribution: Amma will personally meet and bless all who attend.
