Amrita Aranya Jeevanam

This project for Tribal People aims to provide education for children, along with vocational training for adults in the selected tribal regions. This project will empower the tribal people by encouraging them to continue their studies to University level courses. A Self Help Group of potential leaders is also being started.

Jan Shikshan Sansthan

The Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS)- Institute Of People’s Education has been launched by the Government of India for the poorest sections of the society vocational training in over 100  occupations so that they can become self sufficient. MAM runs this program in the districts of Idukki (Kerala) and Sivakasi (Tamil Nadu). JSS of Sivakasi won the 2008 NLM-UNESCO Award for Adult Literacy.

It is the marketing arm of the JSS, which supports the JSS entrepreneurs to market their products.

A “Helpline for Self Reliance” fosters income generating self help groups in deprived communities.

Akshara Danam

A literacy project, encourages JSS beneficiaries to teach other members of their communities to read and write. Recently the Ashram initiative  was recognized by the President of India with a special commemoration. {news}

Jeevanam

“A Help Line for Healthy Living”, is a suicide prevention programme, where JSS beneficiaries are trained as counsellors to counter the rising drug abuse and suicide prevention in their communities.

“Feeding the Poor” is an initiative by staff and students to provide food kits every year to the elderly, homeless and abandoned people in the district of Idukki.
