New Boats to the tsunami victims

As a part of the tsunami rehabilitation project, 25 newly constructed boats were distributed to villagers in the Kollam and Alappuzha Districts who had lost theirs in the tsunami.

Each boat cost 1.25 lakh to build, and came equipped with a 9.9 Yamah outboard engine (costing 70,000 Rs.), 110 kg of fishing net (worth 37,000 Rs.), and additional accessories including diesel fuel.
