Amrita Aranya Jeevanam (Indigenous Peoples' Project)

Attapadi District, Northern Kerala:
This project an integral and holistic approach
for sustainable development of the tribal people,
reforestation and protection of fauna and flora
throughout India. The first phase of the project
is to improve the quality of life of the adivasi
(tribal) population in Kerala, with a target
of building 50 schools in tribal areas. An immediate
goal has been set to build 10 schools, providing
education for people of all ages, as well as
childcare centres and vocational training centres. |

Education, Healthcare and Rehabilitation of tribal
women

Sustenance income for invalids, destitute, mentally
ill & the physically handicapped

General and Specialised Medical aid

Development and preservation of water resources

Reforestation

Educating the tribal people on protection of
wildlife and endangered species

Eco-friendly crop cultivation practices

Co-operatives for marketing and financial assistance

De-addiction Campaigns/Centres

Cultivation and collection of medicinal plants

Counselling for the tribal population
-
Education on prevention of AIDS, TB, Leprosy
and other contagious diseases
-
In addition to this umbrella project the Math
will also provide assistance for the implementation
of the new and ongoing NGO schemes/projects in
liaison with the NGOs and the Government, as well
as development of schemes and projects formulated
by the local people.
