Amrita RSS
Amrita RSS (Rich Site Summary) is an interesting new addition to Amritapuri.org.
Users (of such Internet web browsers as FireFox and Opera) need not anymore
visit Amritapuri.org simply to find out whether or not there
have been any new additions to latest news/updates sections of the website.
All they need to instead do is subscribe to Amrita RSS, which is essentially
an RSS-based newsfeed. Note that the users
can still, and are very much welcome to, visit the website as often as they
want to; Amrita RSS can just help cut down some of the unnecessary trips for
those interested.
FireFox users would use Amrita RSS by creating a 'New Live Bookmark' from
the 'Booksmarks --> Manage Bookmarks...' option and copy-pasting the RSS newsfeed
link location (usually depicted by icon).
Alternatively, they could subscribe to Amrita RSS simply by clicking the icon
should they spot it in the far right corner of the browser status bar.
Details of subscribing to an RSS newsfeed item may vary slightly from browser
to browser, and application to application. The Opera browser, for example,
makes this feature available via "Feeds --> Manage Feeds..." option. Internet
Explorer and Safari do not support the RSS feature as of this writing.. however
once they do, they too should have similar if not identical, RSS configuration.
