The AIMS Neurosciences Institute treats brain, spinal cord, peripheral nervous system, and muscle-related diseases and conditions utilising state-of-the-art technology and a world-class medical team.

The Institute of Neurosciences consists of the Department of Neurology and the Department of Neurosurgery.

The Neurosurgery Department performs complex surgeries for congenital diseases of the brain and spine, tumors of the skull including the skull-base, brain, spine and spinal cord, vascular diseases such as aneurysms and vascular malformations, degenerative disc diseases, operations through a nasal approach for pituitary diseases, instrumentation of the vertebral column and the craniovertebral junction for fractures and dislocation, sterotactic surgery, surgery for epilepsy and movement disorders.

The department is supported by an Acute Stroke Centre, modern dedicated Neurosurgical Operation Theatres, a Carl Zeiss OPMI NC4 Surgical Operating microscope, a Carl Storz Neuroendoscope, a Midas Rex drill system, a Valley Lab Ultrasonic Surgical aspirator, a Seimens C-arm with DSA, Codman, Aesculpa and Synthes operating instruments, a Stereotaxy frame, and a Neuro-Intensive Care Unit to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients.

The Neurology Department provides:

1) Compassionate, tertiary level, state-of-the-art medical care to patients with neurological diseases
2) An environment conducive for basic and clinical research
3) Training for neurological and rehabilitation doctors
