"It Is Like a Tranquilizer"
17 March, 2004, New Delhi
Shri. T.S. Krishnamurti, the Honourable Chief of
the National Election Commission, came to see Amma during Her
Brahmasthanam Festival in Delhi. As Amma was in Delhi only two
month's before the Lok Sabha elections, it was a very busy time
for him.
"I came quite stressed to Amma tonight," he said. "We have elections
in two months, and my phone rings constantly. The amazing thing
is that after a few minutes' darshan, I feel totally relaxed. My
mind is completely at ease and quiet. That is what Amma's darshan
gives me. I am not overworked or anything like that, but there
was stress. Now everything is gone, and I feel absolutely peaceful.
She even asked if I was keeping good health. I said yes,
but I know my blood pressure is too high. Amma understood it. I
feel the change after this darshan. It is like a tranquilizer."
One of the traditional roles of the Guru is to advise kings and
leaders. What does Shri. T.S. Krishnamurti think of all the politicians
that are coming to see Amma?
"If all the politicians that now come to Amma take Her message
of love and affection in their program, it will be a good thing.
Politicians need more sympathy for the cause of the underprivileged.
If Amma achieves anything in this, it will be a great contribution
to the good of this country."
